Sustainability Fund
The operating expenses of the
Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy (DPEA)
consist of two parts: 1)
maintenance, upgrades and consumables for the teaching labs/shops, and
2) participation in the FIRST robotics competition during the Senior
year. In order to provide this valuable educational experience to our
students, we have found sources of funding from the community,
especially DPEA parents. This financial support has paid annual
operating costs of the DPEA, as well as minor capital improvements to
our existing facilities. Our industry partners play an important role
in our educational mission, and
have often paid for the materials costs of the Robotics competition.
Parents of seniors make donations for travel expenses to the regional
and national competitions.
Depending solely on year-to-year donations for the expanded DPEA is not
a viable model of support, especially given the outreach we will be
achieving to all parts of the community. The goal of the Sustainability
Fund is to generate a stable source of income for these expenses. We
have identified four ways of giving at multiple levels:
- Parents and Friends Annual Donations
- Corporate and Non-Profit Partners for Robotics Expenses (3 year commitments)
- Scholarships for Robotics Competitions Travel
- Endowment, or multi-year commitments, for yearly operating expenses
The Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy Foundation invites you to contact us to discuss this exciting project!
