Founding Donor and Patron Opportunities

Founding Donor Opportunities

All Founding Donors ($100,000 and above) will be recognized on the Founding Donor Wall in the conference room of the Elings Center for Engineering Education. The naming opportunities (which must receive final approval by the Santa Barbara Board of Education) are:

Naming the Building: The building has been named the Elings Center for Engineering Education in honor of a $1,000,000 gift from Dr. Virgil Elings. Dr. Elings will also be recognized with a 2x6 foot plaque on the Founding Donor Wall (denoted A on the drawing below).

Naming the Machine Shop: The largest workspace is the machine shop, which will be named after the donor who contributes $500,000. A plaque will be placed at the exterior entrance to the shop and the donor will also be recognized with a 1x3 foot plaque on the Founding Donor Wall (denoted B).

Naming the Classrooms: There are five classrooms that will be named for $250,000 each. Two classrooms have already been named: The Lindsay Rose Mechanical Engineering Classroom and the Raytheon Electrical Engineering Laboratory. The three naming opportunities are the Prototype Classroom, the Computer Laboratory and the Conference Room. Donor recognition plaques will be placed at the exterior entrances to the classrooms and the donors will also be recognized with a 1x3 foot plaque on the Founding Donor Wall (denoted B).

Naming the Major Machines: There will be large machines in the machine shop, each of which will be named for a $100,000 donation with a plaque on the machine itself. The donor will also be recognized with a 9x27 inch plaque on the Founding Donor Wall (denoted C).

Patron Opportunities

All Patrons ($5,000-$99,999) will be recognized with a plaque on the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy Patron Wall.

Those giving $5,000-$24,999 will have a 4x12 inch plaque (denoted F below), that we call the Brick! DPEA parents, families and friends can actively engage in fundraising for Bricks by asking others to donate to the Capital Campaign. For example, start a Brick by making a donation and encouraging your co-workers or extended family to contribute enough to reach $5,000. Then your Brick can read Employees of Pro Widgets or The Smith Family. You can also recognize an individual or a group: In Honor John Doe or In Honor of the 2010 Team 1717.

Those giving $25,000-$49,999 will be recognized with a 6x18 inch plaque (denoted E) on the Patron Wall.

Those giving $50,000-99,999 will be offered the opportunity to name a machine in the prototype room, where the donor will have a plaque on the machine and they will receive a 6x18 inch plaque (denoted D) on the Patron Wall.
