DPEA 2011-2012 Annual Operating Fund

Annual Operating Fund

As the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy continues with its expansion to 400 enrolled students, the costs of offering project-based education are increasing. The DPEA Foundation supports the annual expenses of running the program above what is provided by the Santa Barbara Unified School District. We receive no special funding from the District and thus the program is wholly dependent upon generous benefactors to exist and thrive. We need your help to maintain this extraordinary and acclaimed "school within a school".

Tax-deductible contributions to our Foundation's Annual Operating Fund are used to pay for essential operating expenses including machine shop supplies, robotics parts and supplies, computers, design software, shop management, classroom supplies, and curriculum development. The parents of our students actively support the program; indeed nearly 100% of them supported our capital campaign.

Team 1717

The Foundation is completely staffed by volunteers, so there is no overhead and 100% of your donation goes to benefit students. Thank you for your support!

Grateful thanks to our many generous supporters from 2010-2011.

Special Note to Parents of DPEA Students:

Santa Barbara Unified School District (SBUSD) requires the following statement: California law and SBUSD board policies require that the donations used to fund school-related activities be truly voluntary. No student will be excluded from participating in any school-related activities because the student or their parent has not made a donation. Any suggested donation amount is also voluntary. If you choose to make a donation, you can make it any amount you deem appropriate. No donations will be returned to you if your child decides or is unable to participate in the program to which you donated.
